When to go. October to December is the driest and most comfortable. Avoid Chinese New Year and Golden Week, when the whole city is full.

Otherwise buses and taxis; there is no metro to the old town. Casinos Strictly no under-21s on the gaming floors, and routes between hotel wings sometimes pass through them. Ferries One hour from Hong Kong. Book ahead at weekends and carry passports.
